We tried the latest trend in sex toys and are a total SUCKER for them.

Mia Williams

Popularly referred to as “clit suckers”, this exciting list of sex toys is dedicated to air pulsation technology. What on earth does that mean? It’s much different than vibrators that rumble directly on the tip of the clitoris. Instead, these toys use air pulsation to send ripples much deeper into the clitoris and get the blood flowing to the right areas for more toe-curling orgasms. You’ll see that the mouths are designed to go around the pleasure button, but like all toys, are open to interpretation!

Read along for our comparison of the Lelo Sila, Womanizer Premium, Satisfyer High Fashion, and Lelo Sona.

Lelo Sila – Does it get our Sila of approval?

What makes Sila unique is its intention for more gradual and intense orgasms by using gentle sonic waves. Instead of rushing to orgasm, this device draws out foreplay for a sensual experience that gives you complete satisfaction.

It contains a wide range of vibration intensities that starts from a soft tickle to really intense pulsations. Not only does it have a solid range of intensities, but it also comes with 8 vibration patterns. I tend to stick to the classic constant vibration, but I did use the slow wave-like pattern during my first test and it was an orgasm to remember. The patterns are fun if you want to switch things up, plus they feel good on other places like the nipples.

The “mouth” of this device is different from the others. It’s made from soft, flexible silicone that is actually flat and has a rather large mouth to encompass more than just the clitoris. For someone who finds pleasure stimulating their labia or moving their toys all around the vulva, Sila could offer the stimulation you prefer. The flat design of the mouth also allows you to hold it between your thighs and masturbate hands-free.

I’d also place this as the best bet for someone who’s new to the sex toy game or those who aren’t keen on something intense like a fucking machine. It’s simple, effective, and lets you enjoy reaching orgasm repeatedly. One important thing to note is that the toy isn’t “whisper quiet” like advertised, but it is housemate-friendly and can’t be heard through the walls.

Womanizer Premium – Still hate the name, but do we love the orgasm?

The Womanizer Premium is a beautiful and ergonomically designed toy that comes with a lot of bells and whistles. It’s easy to hold and can even be propped up or held between the thighs for hands-free masturbation.

Its most unique technology is something called “Smart Silence” which means the toy goes on standby mode when it’s not touching your skin. It also contains something called “Autopilot Technology” which is a separate setting from the constant pulsation that cruises randomly through the varying intensities of vibration. It’s similar to one of the patterns offered on the Lelo toys, but the biggest difference is that on the Womanizer Premium you can choose the autopilot mode on low (levels 1-4), medium (levels 5-8), or fluctuating between all of them (1-12). Personally, I don’t need so many vibration levels, but it certainly doesn’t hurt to have.

There is no doubt the Womanizer Premium looks and feels like quality, but not so much that the price is justified at $50-$70 more than the other toys. You could snag another special something for that much.

Satisfyer High Fashion – Best of Both Worlds?

The unique selling proposition for Satisfyer High Fashion is its dual-motor design that dedicates one motor for air pulsation and the other for vibration. Of all the toys on this list, this is the only toy that offers actual vibration. While it is cool to be able to switch between vibration, pulsation, or both, the whole point of these types of toys is to go past the standard vibrator because it only stimulates the tip of your clit.

For this price, it’s also nice that the toy comes with multiple intensities and patterns. Its overall design is most similar to the Womanizer Premium, but the Satisfyer High Fashion has a fixed mouth that can’t be removed for cleaning (it is waterproof, though). I could have been spared the high fashion/couture marketing though because the aluminum finish of the handle doesn’t feel as luxurious as the other toys on this list.

One major buzzkill is the charge time of 4 hours for only 70 minutes of pleasure. Sure, my pleasure sessions on average are less than 20 minutes (unless I’m dedicating a date night with myself with something like Sila), but nobody likes their toys dying on them. Overall, for the price, I could see why someone would bite the bullet, but it’s not a toy I would personally recommend to my friends.

  • The aluminum finish feels cheaper than others

  • The suction head is fixed

Lelo Sona 2 Cruise – Easy Cruise to O-Town?

The Sona 2 Cruise is one of the most raved-about toys on the internet from what I’ve seen. While it does share a lot of features with Sila above, there are some major differences in both product design and experience.

What they have in common is the Sensonic technology which, like all the concepts on this list, sends sonic waves to stimulate more of the clitoris. What I will say despite the similarities in concept is that Sona 2 Cruise by far offered the most intense orgasm for me. Basically, it uses the same technology but has a much greater intensity than Sila.

Not only that, but Sona 2 Cruise contains something special called Cruise Control technology. The toy is designed to save 20% of its overall power for when you are pressing the toy hardest against your body, aka climaxing. You will not find this sex toy losing power when you need it most. What comes along with the intensity, however, is more sound. So, if you have roommates, put some music on.

While Sila is designed for a more gradual and edging-type of build-up, Sona is more of a race to the finish line. You can use it in a teasing fashion by hovering it over the clitoris or holding it on and off your vulva repeatedly, but if you’re in a crunch for time this thing can make you come fast (and I mean fast).

Comparison conclusion

When push comes to shove, any of the clitoral stimulators on this list will offer you mind-blowing pleasure. It all comes down to stimulation preference and a couple of other factors.

If you’re not sold on a particular technology and are mainly looking for good orgasms, our conclusion is that Sila is the best bang for your buck. It contains all the most important features, like a wide range of intensities, some fun vibration patterns, a decent charge and user time, and of course, affordability.

You can’t put a price on pleasure, but you can put one on quality (especially for things that you’ll be using so intimately). Sila meets you right in the middle.
